Personality:

Intelligent. Courageous. Impulsive. Confident. Rash. Loyal. Five words that describe Annie Walker, all true, none of which get to the bottom of who she is as a person on their own.

Described as one of the best up and coming agents in the Central Intelligence Agency, Annie has taken it upon herself to really shine when it comes to being given a new assignment. Pulled from the Farm a month early, she used the opportunity given to her (along with the knowledge that her superiors liked initiative) to take the bull by the horns and get the job done.

Though she was recruited for her exceptional language skills (she's been said by the Covert Affairs writers to speak eighteen total; seven fluently, the rest with varying levels of skill, but enough to get by), Annie joined the Agency for her own reasons; namely, a failed romance with a man named Ben Mercer. He left her on a beach in Sri Lanka with a broken heart and a fifty dollar bar tab. It shaped who she became and two years later, she came to understand that it was his own role within the CIA that ended their relationship, not his desire to do so. It turned her into a bit of a cynic, though her romantic streak remains strong.

She carries that romanticism with her into the job she does, the compassion she uses to talk to people. Children, especially, hold a special place in her heart. She has two nieces that she adores, and a sister that she cares about deeply. For a long time, she kept her employer a secret - for security reasons on behalf of her job and her sister. When she was forced to come clean, her sister didn't take it well, and that betrayal hurt Annie more than she wanted to admit. Lying for her job comes easy to her, though she tells the truth when she can. Lying to people she cares about isn't nearly as easy and she avoids it at all costs.

When it comes to people she cares about, the job she does makes it hard to maintain a steady relationship. The lying about her cover, about her continuous trips, etc., forces her to maintain two separate lives and in the end, it's proven to be too difficult for her to keep a relationship with an outsider going. Her closest relationships seem to be with her co-workers, and Jai (her partner) and Auggie (her tech-support) have both bordered on romantic at different points. Jai realized that she was still gun-shy from her relationship with Ben and though she has deeper feelings for Auggie, until recently, he was a little oblivious to her attentions. They attempted a relationship, though their working relationship made it difficult for both of them to separate the job from the home life. Though she finds it easy to flirt and charm men in almost any setting, she finds it harder to do when actual feelings are on the line.

When challenged or provoked, Annie can (and will) become vindictive and vengeful. After Jai's death by car bomb, she was transferred to another unit and spent a great deal of time seducing an FSB operative named Simon Fischer. When she and Simon were both gunned down in her kitchen by Annie's new boss and mentor, Annie nearly died - and Simon did.

Her feelings for him had been sincere (and he'd loved her as well, going so far as to kill his own handler for her), and when the CIA moved too slowly to take action against the person responsible, Annie simply went into Russia and killed the woman herself.

More recently, she faked her own death to bring justice (or revenge, depending on one's take) to Jai's father, the former head of the DPD where Annie works. The man was a killer and attempted to have Annie killed, as well. During their showdown, she showed no compunction in pulling the trigger - twice - to end the man's life.

Her other professional relationships come easy to her, despite her tenacious attitude; she has a tendency to bend the rules as far as she can to achieve the objective she's set for herself (or one that's been set for her). She has a very 'damn the consequences' attitude about a lot of things, and though she'll toe the line about very many things, it wasn't until recently that she found herself stepping over it with more and more frequency. God & Country, all the way. Law-abiding and rule-breaking is the best way to define that aspect of her personality.

At the end of the day, she is fiercely loyal to her friends, family, and those in her care, willing to do nearly anything to ensure their safety. She enjoys a good beer, a nice meal, great shoes, the best coffee and the occasional scotch.

Powers/Abilities:

Annie is human, therefore she has no power to speak of. Abilities, however, she has.

⇒ a master of languages; seven fluently, quite a few others (as many as eighteen total) in various levels of fluency
⇒ hand to hand fighting skills; Krav Maga, Russian street fighting, etc. trained at the farm, she has all the skills a cia agent should
⇒ she's proficient in weapons and has been seen handling several different kinds of guns (12 Gauge Double Barreled Shotgun, Beretta 93R, Walther PPK, Chiappa Rhino 20DS, among others)

Appearance:

Annie is 5'6" (1.68m), with dirty blonde hair that reaches just past her shoulders. She has brown eyes that often betray her emotions, even if the rest of her is successful in hiding whatever she's feeling or thinking. At it's fullest, her smile is big and bright and she is free with her laughter and amusement. In general, her clothing is upscale and tailored to fit the occasion, and she owns more than one pair of Christian Louboutin heels, which she wears with everything. She's been known to relax in a pair of jeans and over-sized men's shirts if she's in the mood.
